High-summer campaign for JD Sports.

Vans is Old Skool.

Challenge

Create a high-summer menswear campaign for JD Sports that expressed Vans’ unique position, tone of voice and style. The campaign, which specifically focused on the Old Skool shoes and apparel, needed to appeal to a high-street, mainstream audience, but maintain the authentic skate heritage of Vans.

Idea

We worked closely with Vans to develop an art direction that captured shadows, dynamic angles and skate details in an urban, British environment. Styling, location, messaging and attitude were key to ensure it stayed true to the Vans brand. 

After a successful shoot, we created an asset pack of films, photography and artwork that spread out in-store, online and on the Vans and JD Sports social channels.

Impact

The campaign further strengthened the relationship between Vans and JD sports, and was so well received, it was rolled out to JD Sports stores across Europe.
