Everyone enjoys a bit of chocolate. But Godiva don’t just make normal chocolate, they passionately craft the finest, richest Belgian chocolates you’ll ever taste.
They also create seasonal ranges of chocolates based around their 'key date' selling periods, including Christmas (which provides the largest percentage of sales) Valentine’s Day and Easter. Understandably, these are important times for Godiva, so we needed to produce impressive, effective and beautifully-crafted campaigns to further drive sales.
We created striking visuals around the core thought of ‘Beautiful Creations’, where the art direction for each key date took on an execution that matched Godiva’s exceptional quality of chocolates.
An example of this is what we did for Easter. We introduced a stunning butterfly concept, inspired by the packaging designed by Tokyo-based artist Chico Hayasaki, renowned for her elegant line drawings and graceful watercolours.
Firstly, we meticulously hand-made and hand-painted each butterfly, before photographing them one at a time to capture the contrasts and shadows that would enable us to produce stylish compositions around the different packaging. This campaign was also flexible enough to work across Godiva’s Spring Collection and Mother’s Day key dates too.
