To many singletons, Valentine’s Day fills them with dread. As it does for people in partnerships too. Those who forget this special day and swing by the petrol station the night before for some cut-price daffodils or hammer their keyboards first thing in the morning for ‘same day delivery’ chocolates. But to many brands, this isn’t something to fear, but an opportunity to maximise sales and awareness.

This luxury fashion label suspended helium ‘chubby hearts’ over (and in) 29 iconic London locations, from Trafalgar Square to Leicester Square. In Hindmarch’s words: ‘as a “surprise love letter to London” in tribute to its strength and to celebrate our amazing creative city.’ Even if the sentiment was lost, it still got the brand noticed.
