The Sharp Rise Of The Tablet

The growth curve for tablet sales has been extremely steep.  So much so, that tablet sales outstripped desktop and notebook sales in Q1 2013 (according to KPCB’s latest internet trends).

128m tablets were shipped in 2012 globally (up 78% from the previous year).  128m tablets laid next to each other would stretch from London to Sydney… and you’d still have enough to build another ‘tablet line’ from Sydney to LA!

Marketers need to consider their tablet audience with their paid, owned and earned media.  User experience, responsiveness and requirements can differ vastly between devices.
